Explosion at Makati Mall
Death toll now rises to 11 and more than 113 others injured
in an explosion at Makati City's Glorietta 2 of Ayala Center 1:30 p.m. Friday (Oct. 19, 2007).
Investigators are now checking on the possibility that the explosion was an industrial failure
after site probers found 2 power generators, air conditioning units, empty metal drums used
for diesel and the mall's septic tank at the basement of Glorietta 2 mall.

ARRIVAL OF THE NEW JAPANESE AMBASSADOR TO THE PHILIPPINES
The newly designated Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of the Philippines, H.E. Makoto Katsura, accompanied by his wife arrived in Manila on 20 September 2007 aboard Japan Airlines flight 741 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Ambassador Katsura who described himself as a "Balik-bayan", expressed his determination to do the best to further develop and enhance the cooperative relationship between Japan and the Philippines, building upon the achievements by his predecessors.
